Illustration, not a quote. Clover column: interchange is shown as a blended card-present estimate (about 1.81% + 10¢) plus an example markup; your interchange depends on the cards your customers hand you. Square column: Square's published Free-plan in-person rate, which is your ceiling with us, not your price. Competitor rates are their published in-person rates. Contract, hardware, and support lines on the typical-processor receipt describe common industry terms, not any one company. Savings compare against your current processor.

Zero-cost processing, in three steps.

Day one is the only day that matters at a market. Here's how the terminals show up ready, and how the processing pays for itself.

  1. Before the gates open

Terminals arrive charged, labeled, and loaded.

Twenty to fifty Clover Flex handhelds, ground-shipped in a case with spares and chargers. Each one is named for its booth with the menu already on it. Mark is on the phone for the first morning.

  2. At the register

Credit sales carry a disclosed surcharge.

The buyer sees the surcharge on the screen before they tap, within the card networks' cap. Debit is never surcharged. We provide the signage the rules require.

  3. After the last sale

The surcharge covers processing. The rest comes back to you.

Your processing line reads $0.00. Whatever the surcharge collects beyond the actual cost is rebated to the organizer after settlement. Not a windfall, but it nets a little instead of costing a lot.

Surcharging is permitted in Tennessee within card-network rules: credit cards only, capped, disclosed at the point of sale and on the receipt. We configure the terminals and handle the disclosures so you don't have to.

Clover and Square, both

Free hardware. Spares in the box.

We're not loyal to one brand. We're loyal to the one that fits your counter. New accounts get the hardware free, and events get spares so a dead battery never becomes a line.

Who you deal with

A note from the owner.

I've been self-employed for twenty-five years. Long enough to have read a lot of processing statements, and to notice that every one of them was designed not to be read.

Process King is my answer to that. On Clover you get interchange-plus: interchange is what the card networks charge, it's public, and I pass it through. My markup is the only other line, and it's on paper before you sign anything. On Square I set my own rates as your agent of record, so you'll never pay more than Square's published price, and most clients pay less. If you'd rather have one flat fee, we can do that too. There's no monthly fee, no PCI fee, no contract. If I stop earning your business, you leave.

I carry Clover and Square because different counters need different tools, and I'd rather fit the counter than push a brand. When a terminal dies on a Saturday night, you don't get a ticket number. You get me.
